Andrew Schmidt’s Farm in 1909
In the 1909 Atlas of the Borough of Queens, New York, digitized by the New York Public Library, one can identify the location of Andrew Schmidt's farm. The first map shows his relative location in Queens on Plate 11. The rightmost arrow on the second map points to his four acre plot of land on Trotting Course Lane.
Andrew's daughter Elizabeth married Otto Koehn in 1915, and they moved to a house on 38 Furman Ave, indicated by the leftmost arrow. Andrew sold the farm and then moved in with the Koehns, along with his single daughter Dorothea, by 1920.
